The DMV Pop Up & Learn Play Date Was All About Hair, Fun & Community 💕
A day of wash day education, creativity, play, good food and family fun.
What happens when you bring together natural hair education, kids, parents, good food and a whole lot of fun? You get a Pop Up & Learn Play Date! 💕
Our DMV Pop Up & Learn Play Date was created to give families an experience that went beyond hair. We wanted parents to have an opportunity to learn, ask questions and see healthy hair care in action, while giving the kids a space to simply be kids.
From wash day to arts and crafts, our day was filled with education, creativity, play and plenty of smiles. Here’s a little look inside our DMV event!
Wash Day With Layla 💦✨
One of the highlights of the day was getting our hair model, Layla, ready for her wash and go.
We started with a full wash day to properly cleanse, condition and prepare her curls for styling. This gave us the perfect opportunity to show parents that beautiful styles start with healthy, properly cared for hair.
Once her hair was shampooed and conditioned, it was time to bring those curls to life!
We started with the Moisturizing Leave-In Detangler to help make Layla’s curls easier to manage and prepare for styling.
Then we followed with our Hydrating Multi-Use Styling Foam to help define and enhance her natural curl pattern.
The result? Soft, hydrated, defined curls that POPPED! 💕✨
💙 Wash Day Tip for Parents
Don’t rush the styling process. Start with clean, conditioned hair and make sure your child’s hair is properly moisturized before moving into styling. Taking care of the foundation can make styling so much easier!
The Kids Had Their Own Fun Too! 🎨🩷
While parents were learning about hair care, the kids had plenty to keep them busy.
The little ones got creative with custom headband making and arts and crafts. They were able to create something of their own, use their imaginations and have fun with new friends.
And of course, we couldn’t have a play date without a ball pit! 🎈 The kids had a chance to play, move around and enjoy being kids while their parents connected and participated in the experience.
A Little Something for the Parents 🎀🎁
We wanted our parents to feel celebrated too!
Families were gifted beautiful hair bows from Gabby Bows, giving parents a little something special to take home and enjoy with their little ones.
We also had some fun giveaways throughout the event, including a Shampoo Buddy and a pink hair steamer.
You Can’t Have a Play Date Without Good Food! 🥐💕
Our families also enjoyed delicious brunch bites provided by Preddie Cooks LLC. Because learning, playing and creating definitely work up an appetite!
The brunch bites gave everyone a chance to grab something to eat, relax and enjoy time together throughout the event.

Our Pop Up & Learn events are about so much more than products and hairstyles.
